Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern tutoring services provided by Aiten Medzhidova, Individual Entrepreneur, Azerbaijan.

By booking an assessment, purchasing a lesson package, or using my tutoring services, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

If the student is under 18, these Terms are accepted by the student’s parent or legal guardian.

1. Tutoring Services

I provide personalized one-to-one online math tutoring for students from elementary school through high school.

Lessons may include support with school topics, homework, preparation for tests, closing learning gaps, and work based on an individual learning plan.

The content and focus of lessons may be adjusted according to the student’s current needs and academic goals.

2. Free Introductory Math Assessment

Each new student is entitled to one free introductory math assessment.

The assessment lasts 55 minutes.

A parent or legal guardian does not need to be present at the beginning or throughout the assessment. However, a parent or legal guardian must be available at the end of the assessment so that we can discuss the student’s results, learning needs, and recommended next steps.

The free assessment is available only once per student.

3. Lesson Duration and Format

Regular lessons last 55 minutes.

Lessons are conducted online through Zoom and/or Google Meet, unless another format is agreed in advance.

4. Lesson Packages and Payment

Paid lessons are purchased in packages.

Current package options may include:

  • 4 lessons
  • 8 lessons
  • 16 lessons
  • 32 lessons
  • 64 lessons

Payment for a package must be made in full before paid lessons begin.

Lesson packages do not expire. Any unused lessons remain available even if the student takes an extended break and returns at a later date.

Prices and available packages may change from time to time. The price confirmed at the time of purchase applies to that purchase.

5. Payment Currency

Payment requests may be issued in Azerbaijani manat (AZN).

If payment is made using a card or account denominated in another currency, the payer’s bank, card issuer, or payment provider may perform a currency conversion and may apply its own exchange rate or additional charges.

I do not control exchange rates or charges applied by the payer’s bank or payment provider.

6. Scheduling

Lesson times are agreed individually and are subject to availability.

Both the parent or student and I are responsible for attending the lesson at the agreed time.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling by the Student

A lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge if I am notified at least 2 hours before the scheduled start time.

If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made less than 2 hours before the lesson, the lesson will be deducted from the package and treated as used.

If the student does not attend the lesson and no timely cancellation has been made, the lesson will also be treated as used.

8. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Me

If I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, the lesson will not be deducted from the student’s package.

We will arrange another suitable time.

9. Late Arrival

If a student joins a lesson late, I will remain available throughout the scheduled 55-minute lesson period.

The lesson will normally finish at the originally scheduled end time and will be treated as a full lesson.

If I have no lesson or other commitment immediately afterwards, I may, at my discretion and subject to availability, extend the lesson so that the student receives up to the full 55 minutes.

An extension is not guaranteed.

10. Technical Difficulties and Unexpected Circumstances

Unexpected technical problems may occasionally prevent a lesson from taking place normally.

This may include, for example:

  • internet outages;
  • electricity outages;
  • significant device or connection problems;
  • platform-related technical problems;
  • other unexpected circumstances outside the student’s reasonable control.

If such a problem prevents the student from joining the lesson immediately before it begins, or significantly interrupts the lesson after it has started, the lesson will not be deducted from the package and may be rescheduled.

If a significant technical problem occurs on my side and prevents the lesson from being provided, the lesson will not be deducted from the package and will be rescheduled.

I do not routinely require proof of an unexpected technical problem.

11. Homework

Homework or additional practice may be provided to help reinforce material covered during lessons.

Homework is not a mandatory condition of tutoring.

If a student regularly completes homework, I may continue to provide additional practice between lessons.

If homework is repeatedly not completed, I may stop assigning it.

Regular independent practice may help a student make faster and more consistent progress, but failure to complete homework does not result in a penalty or loss of lessons.

12. Transfer of Unused Lessons

Unused lessons from a package may be transferred to another student, including a sibling, relative, friend, or another person, by prior arrangement with me.

Transferred lessons remain subject to these Terms & Conditions.

If the person receiving the transferred lessons is a new student, they may still receive their own one-time free introductory math assessment.

13. Refunds

A refund may be requested for unused lessons remaining in a paid package.

For unused lessons, the refundable amount will be calculated based on the value of the remaining unused lessons, less expenses equal to 3.3% of the gross refundable amount.

Lessons already provided, as well as lessons charged under the cancellation policy, are not considered unused lessons and are not refundable.

The price of lessons already used will not be recalculated retrospectively based on the price of a smaller package.

If I discontinue tutoring for reasons that are not caused by the student, parent, or legal guardian, the full value of all remaining unused lessons will be refunded without the 3.3% deduction.

If tutoring is discontinued because of aggressive, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour, non-payment, or another serious breach of these Terms, any refund for unused lessons will be calculated under the standard refund rules above.

If applicable law requires a different refund amount or treatment, the refund will be handled in accordance with those requirements.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory refund or consumer rights provided by applicable law.

14. Academic Results

I will provide tutoring, explanations, learning support, recommendations, and an appropriate learning plan based on the student’s needs.

However, I cannot guarantee:

  • a particular school grade;
  • a particular test or examination score;
  • admission to a particular school, university, or program;
  • improvement by a specific number of grades or levels;
  • achievement of a particular academic result within a specific period of time.

Academic progress depends on multiple factors, including the student’s starting level, attendance, participation, independent practice, school curriculum, and other circumstances outside my control.

15. Student Participation and Conduct

Tutoring works best when the student is reasonably engaged and able to participate in lessons.

I reserve the right to discontinue tutoring where continuing the tutoring relationship is no longer reasonable or productive, including in cases of:

  • aggressive, threatening, or abusive behaviour by a student, parent, or guardian;
  • repeated non-payment;
  • repeated serious breaches of these Terms;
  • persistent refusal by the student to participate in lessons to an extent that makes tutoring ineffective.

Any unused lessons will be handled in accordance with the refund provisions above.

16. Lesson Recordings

I do not make video or audio recordings of tutoring lessons.

If this practice ever changes, parents or legal guardians will be informed in advance and any consent required by applicable law will be obtained before recording takes place.

17. Third-Party Services

Online lessons and communications may involve third-party services such as Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, email services, and payment providers.

These services operate under their own terms, privacy policies, technical systems, and availability.

I am not responsible for temporary outages or failures of third-party services that are outside my reasonable control.

18. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

Where the student is a minor, parents or legal guardians are responsible for providing the information reasonably necessary to arrange and provide tutoring services.

19. Changes to Services or These Terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions when my services, business practices, payment arrangements, or legal requirements change.

The most recent version will be published on this website with the date of the latest update.

Material changes will generally apply to future bookings and purchases. Any mandatory rights that apply to an existing purchase will remain unaffected.

20. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Where possible, any disagreement should first be addressed through direct communication in an attempt to reach a reasonable resolution.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that may apply under the laws of Azerbaijan or any other law that cannot legally be excluded.
